Jobs: Soloist of the Ljubljana Ballet (until 1957), assistant at the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana (1957-1961), head of ballet and choreographer of the Ljubljana Ballet (1960-72), director and artistic director of the Ljubljana Festival (1972-82) - in 1977 achieved that the Ljubljana Festival was accepted into the Association of European Music Festivals - , artistic director of the Opera and Ballet in Maribor (1984-86). From 1989 to 2002, he lectured at the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana in the singing department and the Opera School, for which he prepared the study program in 1997.

International and domestic activity: Active in many international and domestic organizations, among others since 1973 in the International Theater Institute (ITI-Unesco), where he was president of the Slovenian Center (1992-2000), general secretary of the Dance Committee, technical advisor of the Executive Committee and is still a member of the Presidency of the Musical Theater Committee. Awards: In 1970, he became an honorary doctor of the Universite de la danse in Paris, in 1964 he won the second prize at the 3rd Slovenian Amateur Film Festival and the fourth prize at the 8th Yugoslavian Amateur Film Festival for the genre film Na konicah prstov, and at the same time there the third prize for the feature film Vision, in 1970 a diploma for participation in the 17th World Gymnastics Championship, in 1971 he received the Order of Labor with a Golden Wreath, in 1973 recognition of the position of artist of exceptional quality by the Commission for the Classification of Artists, in 1977 he became an honorary member of the Ballet Group Lidije Sotlar, at the Yugoslav Opera Biennale in 1978 he won the award for the best direction (Bizet: Carmen), and at the Yugoslav Ballet Biennale in 1981 the award for the best choreography (Prokofiev: Romeo and Juliet), since 1983 he has been an honorary member of the ITI Dance Committee, in 1986, as a director together with the ensemble of Opera SNG Maribor, he received recognition from the 10th Yugoslav Opera Biennale for an extremely creative performance of K Ralj D. Božič and in the same year recognition of the Maribor Concert Office for long-term cooperation. In 1989, he received the recognition of important works of art from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television of the University of Ljubljana, in 2000 the Škerjančev recognition of the Secondary School of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana, in 2000 the Betet charter as a group recognition of the contributors to the Encyclopedia of Slovenia, in 2001 the recognition of the Ministry of Education , science and sport and the Ministry of Culture on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of competitions of young Slovenian musicians and ballet dancers, in 2003 he received the Award of the Capital City of Ljubljana for his invaluable work in Slovenian ballet and opera art, for his managerial work in the central opera-ballet house, for his teaching work and the creation of original higher education programs in the field of opera and ballet for the long-term successful management of the Ljubljana summer festival and for committed social action and fundamental scientific journalistic work in the field of opera and ballet. In 2009, the President of the Republic Dr. Danilo Türk was awarded the Golden Order of Merit for outstanding work and merit in cultural activities, especially ballet, and in realizing the sovereignty, reputation and progress of the Republic of Slovenia in culture. On this occasion, the President of the Republic particularly emphasized his outstanding contribution to the development of aesthetics in Slovenia. In the same year, at the Turyak Congress in Istanbul, he received the award and the title "Distinguished Senior Citizen of the World" from the hands of the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan.

Choreographies and directing: His creative opus in Slovenia as well as in Austria, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Ireland, Bulgaria, Slovakia presents over 80 ballet choreographies  to the music of foreign and Slovenian composers (Prokofiev: Peter and the Wolf , Romeo and Juliet, The Stone Flower, R. Strauss: Till Eulenspiegel, Auric: La Chambre, Tchaikovsky: The Sleeping Beauty, Caprice, Romeo and Juliet, Weill: The Seven Deadly Sins, De Falla: El Amor Brujo, Francaix: The Naked Emperor, Khachaturyan: Spartacus, Blacher: Othello, Hamlet, Constant: Cyrano de Bergerac, Ravel: Bolero, Grieg: Peer Gynt, Lehar: Merry Widow, Stravinsky: Firebird, Bliss: Checkmate, Osterc: Illusions, Arabesques, Mask of the Red Death, Savin : Tea Girl, Ciglič: Obrežje plesalk, Ukmar: Godec, Petrić: Kurent, Škerjanc: Gazelle, Mařenka, Kozina: Highland Fairy Tales, Vrhunc: The Little Prince, etc.), 80 choreographies in opera and drama performances, over 40 choreographies for special events , 33 opera and operetta directions (Bizet: Carmen, Puccini: Tosca, Verdi: The Troubadour, Traviata, Mozart: The Abduction from the Serai, The Marriage of Figaro, La Finta Giardiniera, Gluck: Le Cinesi, Menotti: The Medium, The Consul, Donizetti: Rita, etc.) and 13 stage plays in French (Anouilh, Moliere, Labiche, Tardieu, Feydeau, Cocteau, Orsenna, etc.). On the occasion of the 70th birthday of the composer Lojze Lebič, in November 2004 he presented the ballet premiere of his compositions Kons (b) and Krinka (to the music of Korant) in Prevalje. Within the framework of the Slovenian Chamber Music Theatre, he prepared three premieres: in 2003 Čudež v Kropa by J. Offenbach, and in 2004 Jože Dobrnik's Great Day and Phantom in Handel's House, both by E. Streul, in 2006 two operas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Bastien and Bastienne and Theater director, in 2007 the christening performance of the new Slovenian chamber opera Pierrot and Pierrette by Tomaž Svetet and in 2008 the comic opera by the Russian classical composer Vasilija Paškevich Skopuh. As part of the cooperation between SKGG and SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, in 2009 he presented two one-act plays: Theater Director by WA Mozart and Marriage Contract by G. Rossini.

Lectures: In the USA (Brandeis University, UCLA, University Dallas, University of Illinois, Ballet Guild of Chicago), in Finland (Savonlinna), in Germany (Cologne, Munich, Essen), Austria (Vienna, Wolfsegg), in Hungary, in Belgium, France (Cabourg), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bjelašnica), Croatia (Opatija, Grožnjan) and Slovenia. In November 2003, he led a seminar on dance script of the Society of Ballet Artists of Slovenia, and in January 2004, he lectured on ancient dances at a seminar of the Institute of Education of the Republic of Slovenia in Olimje. In 2001 and 2005 he was visiting professor at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch", Berlin, in 2004 and 2008 he was visiting professor for the course of choreography and in 2009 for the course History of Ballet at the International Ballet Seminar in Wolfsegg, Austria. In October 2009, he participated in the International Congress of Distinguished World Citizens in Istanbul, Turkey, with the article "Bridging the differences between cultures".
