Soprano Andreja Zakonjšek Krt, after graduating in music pedagogy at the Faculty of Pedagogy in Maribor, studied at the department of concert singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and graduated with honors.

 

Since the 1996/1997 season, she has been a full-time soloist at the Opera SNG Maribor, where she performed the roles of Rosina (The Barber of Seville), Micaela (Carmen), Adina (Love Potion), Adele and Rosalind (The Bat), Maud in the opera's christening performance Josip Ipavac's Dizzy Princess, Musette (La boheme), Nannette (Falstaff), Pamine (The Magic Flute), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas), Antonie (Hoffmann's Tales), Sophie (Werther), Liu (Turandot), Jerice (Goldilocks), Donna Francesca (Black Masks), Hanne Glawari (The Merry Widow), Elvire (The Italian Woman in Algiers), in the title role of the opera Rusalka, Madame Lidoine/Mother Marie of St. Augustina (Conversations of the Carmelites) etc. She is also a regular guest at SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, where she first appeared as Metka in Humperdinck's fairytale opera Janko and Metka, and then as Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Norina (Don Pasquale), Zerlina in Mozart's opera Don Giovanni, Berenice in Rossini's opera Prilika dela tatu, Valencienne and Hanna in Lehar's Merry Widow, Grilletta in Haydn's Apothecary, which was on the regular program of the Ljubljana Festival, etc. She also performed in Ipavč's opera Teharski plemiči (Marjetka), in Kalman's operetta Count Marica and Ipavč's Tičnik, in Gobč's operettas Mountain Rose and Hmeljska Princess, in Gregorč's operetta Melodie srca and in Zeller's Ptičar.

She is a convincing interpreter of opera and operetta roles as well as concert vocal-instrumental works and solo singing. She collaborated with the Slovenian Chamber Choir, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Slovenian Philharmonic, pianists Nataša Valant, Daniela Candillari, Elena Boljubaš and others. She performed several times at the Radovljica Festival. Her concert repertoire includes works from the early Baroque to the music of the 20th century, among other things she participated as a soloist in performances of vocal-instrumental works by Handel, Telemann, Bach, Haydn and Mozart.

 

In 2004, RTV Slovenija released her first CD titled Slovenian and French self-songs, which she recorded with pianist Nataša Valant. Under the auspices of the same publishing house, several others joined the said record, she also collaborated with the pianist Breda Zakotnik, with whom they performed a concert of Wolf, Schubert and Schumann solos in Slovenj Gradac in 2006, which was also recorded by Radio Slovenia. On the mentioned disc, we can find the works of Anton Lajovic, Risto Savin, Gabriel Faure, Claude Debussy and Leo Delibes.
